They had been given the memory of Daniel perishing in fire so they would not try to rescue him from the alien Nem, who had captured him. While SG-1 held a memorial service, Daniel was being forced to translate ancient Babylonian texts under threat of death if he failed to answer the alien's question, "What fate Omoroca."
